STUDENTS
Young people are clearly the future for the geospatial professions which include geodesy, GIS, cartography, and surveying. Current studies show that the average age of today's professionals in these fields ranges from the mid 50's to the early 60's.
The demand for professionals in the geospatial community will not diminish but in fact continues to increase.
ACSM and it's Member Organizations welcome students who are pursuing careers in these fields to introduce themselves to each other, and to professionals already practicing.
One of the best ways to do this is joining ACSM as a student member. As a student member you are exposed to the varied geospatial practice areas through the publications that are available to you. These include the ACSM Bulletin Magazine, the Surveying and Land Information Science Journal, and the Cartography and Geographic Information Science Journal.
Other benefits of student membership include the opportunity to compete for a wide variety of scholarships, and the opportunity to participate in competition to attend a International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) and join geospatial students from other countries in the FIG Young Surveyors Organization.
As a student member, you will be affilated with each of the four Member Organizations (MO's) of ACSM.
